Our clients speak best of us
A sausage like in the old days! Marie-Claire T. β Lyon
"I had been looking for a sausage that reminded me of my grandfather, the butcher, for a long time. I finally found it! The texture is perfect, the taste is well-pronounced without being too strong. You can really feel the artisanal craftsmanship behind it. Delivery was fast and the packaging was neat. I recommend it with my eyes closed!"
Best aperitif of the year Julien R. β Bordeaux
"Ordered this for a dinner with friends and everyone asked where I got it. The sausage is substantial, well-seasoned, with a lovely bloom on the surface. It's a far cry from the bland industrial products you find in supermarkets. This is already my second order!"
Very good, delivery a bit long Γric M. β Nantes
"The product is really excellent, tasty and nice and dry just how I like them. The only downside is that delivery took 5 days, which made me wait. But once it arrived, you quickly forget! I'll be ordering again for the holidays."
A gift that everyone loves Sophie D. β Toulouse.
"I gave some to my father for his birthday and he was delighted. The box is very well presented, perfect for a gift. The sausage itself is a real marvel β tender, fragrant, with that subtle hint of hazelnut that you only find in quality charcuterie. Bravo!"
Authentic and generous Sauce Patrick B. β Clermont-Ferrand
"As someone from Auvergne, I'm particular about cured meats. Well, Saucback pleasantly surprised me. Their sausage stands up to the best local products.
Good size, great chew, and a really fair price for an artisanal product.
Don't hesitate to buy it."
Hooked since the first slice Camille V. β Paris
"I stumbled upon Saucback by chance and I absolutely don't regret it. The sausage is delicious, tender but not greasy, with well-balanced spices. I enjoyed it with a good glass of red wine and it was perfect. The customer service was also very responsive when I had a question. Excellent!"
Frequently Asked Questions
All about the Lot of 2 Extra Catalan Fuets Espetec
What exactly is a Catalan fuet β and how is it different from a saucisson?
Fuet (βwhipβ in Catalan) is a charcuterie speciality from Catalonia. Thinner and longer than a French saucisson, it is stuffed into a narrow natural casing and dried using a traditional Catalan method. The result: a lighter texture, a more delicate, peppery taste and that characteristic crunchy bite you don't find in a classic saucisson. They are two different products β complementary, not interchangeable.
Why buy the pack of 2 rather than a single fuet?
Simple: a 160g saucisson goes quickly. With friends during aperitif, as a snack at the office, or while hiking, it disappears in minutes. The pack of 2 for β¬8.25 is cheaper than two separate purchases, and saves you the frustration of running out at the wrong time. For regulars, the pack is the natural format.
What's the white film on the surface β is that normal?
Absolutely normal, and even desirable. This white coating is a natural mold (Penicillium) that develops during traditional curing. It protects the fuet and actively contributes to the development of its aromas. It's the signature of authentic dryingβnot a defect, but proof of quality.
What is Espetec Extra?
Espetec is the traditional Catalan name for a superior thin fuet sausage. The "Extra" designation refers to the selection of the best pieces β impeccable natural casing, expertly cured, consistent taste. This is the premium version of Catalan fuet, the one Catalans themselves eat.
How to best enjoy it?
Naturally, broken by hand β thatβs the authentic Catalan way. Or sliced diagonally on a platter for visual effect. It pairs perfectly with tomato bread (pa amb tomΓ quet), olives and a glass of Cava or Garnacha. Take it out of the fridge 10 to 15 minutes before serving to release all its aromas.
How should I store my fuets when I receive them?
Before opening, keep them in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place. Unopened, they can also be kept at room temperature in a cool, ventilated place, as in Catalonia. Once opened, wrap the cut fuet in baking paper or a clean tea towel, put it back in the refrigerator and eat it within 2 weeks. The second fuet stays intact until you open it.
Can we take them on a picnic or hike?
They are even their original use. Light, without bulky packaging, they last perfectly several hours without refrigeration. Catalan fuet is the ideal gourmet snack for outdoor activities β practical, nourishing, and much better than any cereal bar.
Are they kid-friendly?
Yes, fuet catalan is mild, not spicy, and very accessible to young palates. It is often the first Iberian charcuterie product that children spontaneously adopt β its light texture and delicate taste immediately appeal to them.
What is the difference between Catalan fuet and chorizo?
Fuet contains neither paprika nor chilli: its flavour comes from the meat, salt, spices and curing. Chorizo gets its character from paprika (and cayenne for the hot version). Two Spanish specialities, two very different taste experiences. On a board, they complement each other perfectly.
What is the delivery time for my order?
Your order is shipped within 24-48 business hours in insulated packaging to ensure freshness upon receipt. You will receive a tracking email as soon as it is shipped.
Our customer service team answers Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm (French time). Average response time: 24 business hours
